Mission

We exist to provide support to local families who open their homes and hearts to children in need of a stable and sometimes permanent home.

Kindworks United is available to all foster parents, as well as families who have adopted children from the foster care system.

We put action behind our words by providing resources, training, and support to help families thrive while giving children the stability they deserve.

Our Why

Fostering and caring for children who have lived through trauma can take a lot out of you and it is easy to feel overwhelmed, and you can burn out when you try to carry everything on your own. You need people who truly understand the ups and downs that you are dealing with and who can share real advice, helpful strategies, and most of all, honest moral support.

Having a strong support system makes all the difference, and being part of a community that understands your journey helps you stay steady, encouraged, and able to keep pouring into the children who need you the most.

Who We Serve

Kindworks is an organization that is open to foster parents and families who have provided a permanent home to children who were formerly in the foster care system.

What We Do

  • We provide peer mentoring and support to form connections with other foster and adoptive parents to share experiences, guidance, and encouragement.

  • We coordinate fun and engaging events that help foster and adoptive families connect and reduce isolation.

  • We look for opportunities to provide programs and activities that promote normalcy, giving foster and adoptive children access to experiences, education, and fun, while helping them feel safe, supported, and part of a community where they can grow with confidence and joy.

  • We help foster parents meet their annual training goals while providing education and guidance to prepare them for the unique needs and behaviors of children currently in foster care and those who have been adopted. These training can help provide a framework for understanding trauma, building coping strategies, and developing skills that support the children’s growth and healing.

Our Goal

We are dedicated to creating a network of support that truly wraps around foster and adoptive families, offering many types of help, from practical resources to emotional support, so parents feel lifted up, families grow stronger, and children feel nurtured and cared for, and the entire family feels connected to their community.

How You Can Get Involved

If you are a foster parent or have adopted from foster care, we invite you to become a member of our organization and join a community that will help you feel more connected and provide opportunities to meet others who can relate to the journey and path you share.

If you are not able to foster but you believe in the mission, you can still make a big difference in the lives of these families who are opening their homes to children in need. You can share your time or your skills during our monthly training sessions, offer supplies, cater a meal, donate gift cards, or contribute experiences that spark joy and create lasting memories.

Every bit of support, big or small, strengthens the families who are caring for these precious children and makes a significant difference in keeping them encouraged and able to continue the work that makes such a difference in the lives of these children. Together, we can build a community that stands with these children and their families every step of the way.
