Teen Intervene

Teen Intervene is a program providing education, support and guidance for teens who are misusing drugs and alcohol, and their parents. It is for middle and high school youth, and utilizes the Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation’s Teen Intervene curriculum. This program is designed as a comprehensive screening, brief intervention and referral to treatment (SBIRT) model of care. Teenagers, who have experienced mild to moderate problems associated with alcohol, vaping (nicotine/marijuana) or drug use, work with an addiction treatment counselor to identify and, ultimately, change their choices and behaviors. At the end of the 4th session of Teen Intervene, the addiction counselor will assess the youth and either discharge them from the program or recommend further treatment.
Parents of youth attending Teen Intervene are required to attend parenting education while their youth are attending Teen Intervene. These parenting sessions are free and are taught via Zoom utilizing Nurturing Parenting or other evidence-based parenting curricula.
